Despite boasting a full breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu, we opted for the cafe's sweet treats to satisfy our sweet teeth, using their ordering system that's far from easy: a Homemade Brown Sugar Blueberry Square ($4.35), a Homemade Almond Crescent Biscuit ($1.55), and a Cherry Bomb Mocha ($4.50) to wash it all down.
Sugar overload and exorbitant prices aside, the food is everything you'd expect from a cafe. The Blueberry Square and Almond Crescent lived up to their homemade promise with their soft and flavourful pastry, but were far too small. The Cherry Bomb Mocha was a seasonal drink for Valentine's Day (you caught us, this post is six months late), and just like it sounds, was a little too sweet.
It seems that L'Espresso Bar Mercurio has yet to find the balance between decent portions, decent prices, and decent service, but we can't fault their impeccable location and atmosphere.
