As soon as you walk in, you're not sure if you're in downtown Toronto anymore. The place has a distinctly chill vibe and we're not sure if it's just the dimly lit interior, birch tables, or the friendly staff but it feels natural to make yourself at home in the cozy restaurant.
Deep Fried Freshly Grated Squash Fritters ($7)
Crispy Shrimp Chips with Tamarind Dip ($4)
Crispy Fish with Homemade Sweet & Tangy Tamarind Reduction ($8)
For our mains, we got the Crispy Fish with Homemade Sweet & Tangy Tamarind Reduction ($8), Grilled Chicken Wings with Sabai Sabai House Marinade ($7), and the Grilled Northern Thai Pork Skewers with Spicy Nam Chip Dip ($8). We only wish the dishes were as big as their names. Each serving was minuscule and unfairly addictive so that you either end up ordering a ridiculous quantity of dishes or staring longingly at your empty plate(s).
Grilled Chicken Wings, Sabai Sabai House Marinade ($7)
The sweet and tangy sauce complemented the crispy fish perfectly and the Sabai Sabai house marinade was a match made in heaven for the grilled chicken wings. The skewers were flawlessly grilled, each bite was blissfully succulent, and of course, the Spicy Nam Chip Dip was basically its soulmate. It's clear this place knows what they're doing when it comes to sauces.
